Dhasedyl is a cough mixture to suppress coughs, and does contain 9mg of codeine per 5mls of syrup. Codeine is used as a painkiller as well as an effective cough suppressant, and is also used in other cough preparations such as Procodin and Codipront.  Take codeine, a cough suppressant from the opium plant, similar to morphine, to alleviate discomfort, diarrhoea, and cough, with side effects like vomiting, constipation, and drowsiness.  Promethazine, a first-generation antihistamine, is used to treat symptoms of the common cold, including allergies, insomnia, and nausea, with potential side effects including sleepiness and confusion.
